Starting New

That’s me in the middle. The day I decided to go back to school to get a second degree, in creative writing was the start of something new. It was also at this time that I decided to start going to comic cons. The whole thing scared the beans out of me. What was I thinking?

Now I have taken the opportunity to start a new job and was advised to start a blog. So here I am writing a blog.  There is always the question of what to write about? I have four dogs, two parents, a sister and all menagerie of animals that roam through my property. I have a taste for fantasy/sci-fi when writing and love mysteries. I also like to add little things that inspire me in my writing, for example, Toad Water.

What is Toad Water you might ask?  I tried to start a blog a few years ago with my sister with anecdotes about our adventures with the family. We had no idea what we were doing and the blog was short-lived, it might find its way back into existence at some point, I don’t know. But Toad Water aka cold water was a favorite that we wrote about. The point is I was inspired to write a short story about Toad Water.  I may be posting that to my website in the future.

I have run into a good amount of information, strange conversations, and mildly amusing word plays that I will probably use in my writings at some point. This is the nature of a writer though. I always say that I write the story that I want to read because who else is going to write it. I would hope that others are willing to read my work for their own amusement as well. But that is not the reason that I write.

I’m currently finishing my Creative Writing Degree with Southern New Hampshire University. My work can be found by joining Writers.com under the pen name stowe_evermore and I’m a member of the Puyallup Writing Group. My novel is in revision and I have started a new SciFi/Fantasy adventure. There will be information on my novel and other ideas listed on my work in progress page in the future along with a list of interesting things that have inspired me.
